this past weekend i travelled to tokyo for the first time in almost a year to escape from my busy life i have here on the westside. although i was there just for 2 days, the weekend was so relaxing and fun that i wished i could stay there forever. it’s not just tokyo that made my vacation fun, but it’s the friends that made it super magical! tokyo is and has always been dreamy, but it can’t get as dreamy without them. i was stressed cus of work, but i am refreshed and feel so fine now! it’s times like these i feel fortunate to have such sweet friends.

omg!!!!! so when i came home today, i got a package from my zombie friends from uk!! by my zombie friends from uk, i mean the legendary indie horror punk band, zombina and the skeletones!!
i only bought the cds but they also sent me those little buttons and stickers. with that lovely message! i think my love call reached their hearts! aww, i feel super special. <3
anyway, first just shut up and listen to their music! haha they are the best band ever!!!
maybe someday i’ll bring them out to japan somehow!!!

you know what happened on january 20th, 2009? yes, you’re right, it was the day of inauguration for the new u.s. president barak obama! but it was actually, also my 23rd birthday!
i feel super lucky that my birthday has become one of the most memorable days in history. :)
but more than that, the reason i feel so lucky is that my ex-roommates/best friends/almost-family yurie and chihiro threw a small but neat birthday party for me! i said small, but the dinner was BIG. i think i gained at least 1.5 kilos after i ate this.
they cooked all this for me. mostly yurie. damn girl. can i marry her?
and for the birthday presents, i got the cake from yurie’s parents, and this piggy-nose mug and a bunch of other cute little stuff from yurie and chi-chan. aww, how nice of them!
after that, we had our usual girls-(ero)-talk while watching obama’s inauguration (haha), and my birthday bash ended today with coldstone ice cream!

i think i gained at least 3 kilos total after the party.
but it was such a happy day! i feel so lucky! :)
